CIBO Espresso has expanded its South Australian network with the opening this week of its 15th espresso bar in the popular seaside location of Henley Square.
The new location – formerly home to Morska Vila – is set to meet pent-up demand from legions of coffee afficionados in the west.
CIBO Espresso Director Roberto Cardone said the company had been waiting for several years for the right opportunity to open in Henley.
“This site is fantastic. It boasts two intimate dining spaces over two floors, and the centrepiece has to be the second-floor balcony, which we’ll open in summer for unparalleled views of the coast.”
The move into Henley Square coincides with a new design approach that enables new stores to blend CIBO’s signature style with the characteristics of the site and location to create an individual personality.
“With the beautiful old building at Henley Square, we worked to maintain the existing architectural shell, utilising it as much as possible,” said CIBO Espresso Project Manager and interior architect Cosimo Dichiera.
“It was important that the space retained its heritage and soul. We were able to keep the floorboards, the traditional timber ceiling and the weathered masonry walls, while incorporating materials hardy enough to endure the sea air.”
“We work with a set criteria when fitting out new bars and, put simply, it’s all geared towards the comfort of our customers, functionality for staff to provide the best service possible and remaining true to the experience of traditional Italian espresso bars.”
CIBO Espresso is also celebrating the launch of its new winter menu – a collection of 18 seasonally inspired Italian delicacies.
The menu was developed by CIBO Directors Claudio Ferraro and Salvatore Pepe, who tasted their way across Northern Italy earlier this year. The eight savoury and 10 sweet items featured on the new menu capture the most popular flavours of winter in Italy.
CIBO Espresso Henley Square and the new winter menu were officially launched on Monday 24 May 2010. The new menu is now available at all 15 Adelaide CIBO Espresso locations.
