The $10,000 winner of the CIBO Galleria art prize is Adelaide artist Eileen Lubiana with her painting ‘Dusk’.
Eileen, who trained at the Adelaide Central School of Art will also see her winning art featured on 200,000 Espresso takeaway cups in June.
She was up against 12 other finalists in the seasonal art exhibitions launched by CIBO Espresso last year.
The event enabled nearly 70 artists to show their work to up to 65,000 patrons each week in CIBO Espresso bars throughout Adelaide.
CIBO Galleria features four seasonal exhibitions and awards, each named in Italin, colours to ressemble the seasons: Giallo (yellow for summer), Arancio (orange for autumn), Nero (grey for winter) and Verde (green for Spring).
CIBO Espresso Marketing Directo, Roberto Cardone, said Eileen’s painting was chosen by a highly qualified panel of professionals and reflected the extraordinarily high quality of the artists exhibited.
“We want to embrace their passion for art by providing emerging Adelaide artists with a platform to showcase their works,” Mr Cardone said. “It’s a challenge that’s been taken up enthusiastically by our patrons, exposing art sceptic and art lover alike to high quality, contemporary Adelaide art.”
“The event has been a huge success for both artists and CIBO Espresso. The exhibition resulted in many artists selling their works as well as future artworks being commissioned.”
