Modbury’s Civic Park is hosting a free outdoor cinema experience this January bringing you balmy summer nights at the movies.

On Friday 21 and Saturday 22 January 2022, Civic Park will transform into a moonlight cinema, with delicious food vendors on-site to cater to all of your dinner and movie snack needs.

The films on show are family favourites with The Croods: A New Age on the Friday, and Space Jam: A New Legacy on the Saturday.

The movies will begin at around 8:30 pm, depending on sunset time, with the official start time to be announced on the morning of the showing on the Civic Park Facebook page.

The free event – which will operate under COVIDSafe principles set out by SA Health – is a great way to get outdoors to spend a night with family and friends.

Due to its popularity last year, the VIP Competition will return giving guests the chance to win the ‘best seats in the house’.

The VIP Competition Prize includes 5 tickets (2 adults & 3 children) to a VIP seating area with lazy bag chairs and a $50 meal voucher to use with onsite food vendors on the night.

Moviegoers who aren’t randomly selected as the lucky VIP winners can bring their own rugs, beanbags or chairs, to lounge on.

The big screen will be located at the top end of the park, offering guests a grand view of the Adelaide Hills beyond the Modbury skyline. It’s a fantastic spot to throw down a picnic blanket and graze on delicious movie popcorn while watching the sunset before the movie begins.

The family-friendly event is unticketed so make sure to arrive early to secure the best seats on the hill.

Civic Park is located at 995 North East Road, Modbury 5092. You can follow Tea Tree Gully Major Events Facebook page for more information.
