Beep beeep, get ready, young explorers! The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is inviting families to Touch-a-Truck, a free, hands-on event where your kids can get up close and personal with some of their favourite vehicles.
On Saturday 28 March 2026, from 10:30am to 2:30pm at Regency Park Reserve, little adventurers can climb aboard flashing emergency vehicles, to construction giants, and heaps more. For those who prefer a quieter introduction, the event kicks off with a Sensory Hour from 10:30 to 11:30am, designed for children who enjoy a calmer experience or require a more relaxed environment.

If you’ve ever wanted to get up close and personal with a particular service vehicle, or give your kids a VIP look inside, this is your chance. You’ll see these vehicles in action, lights flashing and engines humming, while the operators are on hand to share stories, answer questions, and give an insider’s look at how they work. Plus, there will be tiny versions of construction vehicles provided by Junior Tradies that your kids will be able to take a spin on. They’re pretty much guaranteed to have a ball!
While it’s centred around showing off incredible machines of all shapes and sizes, the day isn’t just about trucks. Kids can also enjoy craft stations, face painting, outdoor games, and interactive activities hosted by the Scouts, YMCA, and PAE Library STEM programs. There will also be roving entertainers, music, nature play, skate demos, and plenty of prizes and giveaways to keep the excitement rolling.
There’ll be plenty to snack on during the day too, with a lineup of food trucks on-site to keep growing appetites satisfied.

From pressing buttons and honking horns to exploring how big machines work, Touch-a-Truck gives children a hands-on, enriching day of curiosity, learning, and imaginative play they won’t forget.
Free entry and all activities are included. Families are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy everything on offer.
