Hilton Adelaide’s signature restaurant, Coal Cellar + Grill, is one of the city centre’s premium dining destinations, dripping in sophistication of show-stopping dishes. From its SA Southern Rock Lobster pasta to the signature 1.2kg tomahawk beef steak, Coal Cellar + Grill delivers a great “elegant yet informal” dining experience.
The premium restaurant is now relaunching its express lunch, and it’s set to be one of the nicest meals you’ve ever had with the word “express” next to it.
The express lunch features a new and exciting collection of menu items each month, curated to cater to both meat lovers and vegetarian eaters. Priced at $35 for a main meal and a glass of house wine, beer, or soft drink.
Coming up in 2023, the express lunch will feature lamb croquettes, companied with ricotta, onion marmalade, and tomato herbed couscous, alongside Coq Au Vin Blanc chicken skewers, paired with wild rice & charred capsicum salad.
Diners will also be able to find seared barramundi, on a bed of snow pea tendril, chili, and mango salad, as well as a house fettuccine, with truffle, miso crème fraiche, and poached egg… certainly not your run-of-the-mill midweek meal.

If you haven’t visited Coal Cellar + Grill before, the restaurant features a modern grill menu with a focus on South Australian produce. Beside its mixture of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes, Coal Cellar + Grill is also home to more than 500 wine labels.
For a longer dining experience, the restaurant has also updated its menu, which reflects the “seriously South Australian” ingredient focus, including delicious new dishes such as their lobster bisque, Southern Rock Lobster pasta, and hazelnut popcorn praline for dessert.
Coal Cellar + Grill is the signature restaurant of Hilton Adelaide – the latter of which just celebrated its 40th birthday in Adelaide. The premium restaurant replaced previous iterations of the Hilton Adelaide restaurant, including The Grange Restaurant and The Brasserie.
Coal Cellar + Grill’s express lunch will be available on Thursdays and Fridays from 12pm to 2pm, commencing on 8th February 2023. The restaurant is located at 233 Victoria Square, Adelaide SA 5000.
