While Grange Beach is known for its enviable city beach sunsets, the enjoying seaside location is often missing a good ol’ Aperol Spritz in hand.

Now, cocktails are making their way to Grange Beach, with Coastal Delicatessen shaking and stirring plenty of mixes just in time for Summer. While the line-up of cocktails is yet to be revealed, owner Shaun Pattinson has given us a sneak peek at what to expect come summertime.

The classic delicatessen is paying homage to its European roots by creating an aperitivo digestive style menu, with plenty of Aperol and Campari-based cocktails to transport you to the Amalfi coastline with the warmer weather.

Enjoy a classic Negroni, Espresso Martini and Spritz’ while marvelling at the gorgeous Grange Beach landscape.

“There’s a real lack of decent cocktails in this side of town, and the city tends to get all the love so I thought I’d bring it to this side of town,” says Shaun.

Just like its envious wine list, Coastal Delicatessen’s cocktail menu rotates seasonally, intertwining the SA’s stellar gin and white spirit scene throughout the European inspired menu.

A veteran of Adelaide’s thriving bar scene himself, Shaun knows a thing or two about cocktails, having the helm and brains behind Adelaide’s award-winning cocktail bar, Cushdy.

While the curtain closed on the Hindley Street institution in 2013, Shaun continues to support his industry friends through his cocktails, using gin gurus Never Never Distilling Co and Threefold Gin in his line-up of mixes.

A one-part Australian, one-part Continental deli, Coastal Delicatessen is all parts in love with the locale. Opening its doors in April this year, the seaside spot has long been on owner Shaun Pattinson’s mind, having frequented the old storefront as a child.

Now he’s turned the closed supermarket into Grange’s one-stop-shop for all things fresh bread, pantry staples and Panini’s, with a wicked curation of SA wine, beers and spirits.

You can find Coastal Delicatessen at 14 Jetty Street, Grange from Wednesday to Monday from 10am onwards, and 9am on the weekend.

Keep up to date this them online or on Facebook.
