Internationally recognised chef and restaurateur Jessi Singh is opening Boom Boom Room, a plush cocktail bar, on Rundle Street.

Singh has acclaimed venues in New York, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Melbourne and Sydney, and he has made Adelaide his newest destination. After opening colourful Indian-Australian Daughter in Law with sommelier Bhatia Dheeraj at the end of February, Singh is set to open the Boom Boom Room right above it.

Based on the sneak peak Singh showed us, photos of Adelaide’s Boom Boom Room have rich red velvet booths and ambient lighting. The Adelaide lounge resembles its interstate counterpart of the same name, which Singh opened above restaurant Mr Brownie in South Melbourne.

The Melbourne location has plush curtains, plants, hanging lights, and fun images with the likes of Marilyn Monroe. Guests of the Adelaide lounge can expect a similarly elegant look and feel.

Adelaide’s upstairs cocktail lounge will have 80’s and 90’s music and lots of dancing, making it a great spot to kick back and have a champagne. Guests can expect the quality service and offerings that Daughter in Law and Singh’s other venues are known for.

The celebrity chef is excited to open restaurants in Adelaide, especially after such a turbulent year for hospitality.

“We are excited to create much needed jobs in hospitality, especially after the past year,” Singh says.

“I am confident Daughter In Law will only be one of multiple restaurants we open here in Adelaide.”
