Due to this weekend’s extreme weather forecast, a Code Blue has been activated overnight, offering extra support and care for those experiencing homelessness. The Code Blue will be in effect until 9 am Monday 11 December 2023.
This critical activation is set to provide much-needed support for individuals experiencing homelessness in the metropolitan area.
With thunderstorms and heavy rain anticipated, the Severe Weather Activation response seeks to ensure the safety and well-being of those who are most vulnerable in these extreme conditions.

Saturday 9 December:
Hutt Street Centre, Westcare Centre – open for additional day support and overnight accommodation.
Toward Home Alliance Resolve Team – additional outreach support from 7am – 7pm.
Sunday 10 December:
Hutt Street Centre, Westcare Centre – open for additional day support and overnight accommodation.
Toward Home Alliance Resolve Team – additional outreach support from 7am – 7pm.
With extended opening hours on Saturday, Hutt St Centre will be available for people experiencing homelessness, offering a warm welcome, a wholesome meal, and a safe place to take shelter from the elements.

Homeless Connect SA will continue to operate 24/7 to assist with emergency accommodation.
A flood warning is also in place, as a low pressure trough over southern SA moves northeastwards today, bringing showers and thunderstorms across the Mt Lofty Ranges.
Rainfall on Friday and Saturday across the Mt Lofty Ranges may cause rapid localised river and creek level rises, with possible isolated minor flooding under higher possible rainfall totals.
