Like everything these days, there are knock offs, good attempts, and the real thing. And we all know, nothing beats the real thing. Well, it can’t get more real than the transition of married couple Mark and Sharyn, who have moved from the fruit & veg industry, straight into cold pressed juice. Talk about knowing your product. Inspired by Sharyn’s naturopath from Sydney, David Jivan, the pair have always been passionate about delivering amazing fresh product to the customer, and this is now evident in their new venture GOODPRESS Juices. Their first of 4 planned stores has just opened in Henley Beach, bringing a delicious and healthy option to beach-goers, locals, cyclists, and visitors to the area.
GOODPRESS joins the ever-growing list of reasons to head to the revitalised precinct, which now also boasts the the $8m Henley Square redevelopment, recently opened MALOBO restaurant, and Bacchus restaurant & bar with their new K9 menu for your fur babies.
The menu is simple. And good. There are light bites available, which are perfect for breakfasts on the run, or taking home a snack for later on. Their Bircher muesli is the only option with dairy, featuring a coconut yoghurt and season fruits. The others are all designed to cater to people who are avoiding lactose or prefer other flavours but we love them too (and we eat everything!). There is a vanilla chai pudding, acai and mixed berry pudding, expresso and cacao chia pudding and finally a toasted muesli parfait. For larger serves, try the salads. They aren’t pre-soaked in dressing so they’ll be nice and fresh to eat whenever you decide to tuck into them. GOODPRESS even have house-made protein balls and superfood balls which are utterly delicious. For someone who never thought I’d be eating raw, processed sugar-free desserts, I’ve certainly changed my tune on that lately!
The coffee at GOODPRESS is from Adelaide caffeine champions Carnevale Coffee, so you know it’s good. The standard options are available, and you can also grab your coffee with almond mylk, which is becoming increasingly popular.
Almond mylk is becoming so popular in fact, that the GOODPRESS guys are making their own. Crushing almonds in house, and creating the creamy goodness that offers up a raft of health benefits. There is an entire Almond Mylk menu at GOODPRESS, with 4 options which sound more like cocktails than healthy drinks (and hey, that works for us). Ingredients across the 4 include things like strawberries, vanilla bean, espresso, raw cacao and medjool dates.
Fifteen juice options make the picking difficult, but the team at GOODPRESS know their stuff inside and out, and can tell you the health benefits of each, or just what tastes delicious. This place is less about the health wank however, and more about delivering something you actually get excited about consuming. The crew at GOODPRESS don’t offer up juice cleanses and they don’t want to. They’re more about promoting eating well day to day, so you don’t have the need to cleanse, as your body is naturally built to do that.
With all the ingredients coming straight from the Adelaide Producers Market, you know it’s fresh and given the owner’s background, you know they’re dealing with the best farmers and producers they can get fruit & veg from. So the next time you’re wondering how to get a kilo or so of fruit and vegetables and all their goodness into your body, we’ve found a delicious shortcut to get your nutrients topped up, so you can justify your next bottle of wine with dinner.
GOODPRESS is located at 13 Henley Beach Road, Henley Beach.
