Coldplay and Pearl Jam rumoured to play at 2024 VAILO Adelaide 500 after-race concert

It’s rumoured that Coldplay could take centre stage at next year’s highly anticipated VAILO Adelaide 500 after-race concert.

The rumour mill is buzzing as speculations mount that global music phenomenon Coldplay could take centre stage at next year’s highly anticipated VAILO Adelaide 500 after-race concert.

7NEWS Adelaide reported that it’s believed the South Australian government are rumoured to be pulling out all the stops to secure this iconic band, it’s no wonder fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation of what promises to be a monumental musical event.

On a different tangent, 5AA’s David Penberthy shared on the show that he’s heard that Pearl Jam are “very much in the frame” to play next year’s Adelaide 500. Apparently they’ve been informed by one of their listeners who’s involved in the Pearl Jam supporters group in Australia that they are doing a World Tour next year which will include Australia, while no dates are confirmed yet, apparently it will be at a similar time to the VAILO Adelaide 500.

Coldplay’s potential appearance comes on the heels of the electrifying performance by British superstar Robbie Williams, which drew a staggering crowd of 50,000 fans on Sunday night.

The atmosphere was electric as the main oval filled with enthusiasts eager for a close-up view of the legendary artist. The lead-up music set the stage for a night to remember, and the concert lived up to the hype, kicking off with the anthemic “Hey Wow Yeah Yeah” and Robbie Williams’ iconic words, “My name is Robbie Williams, this is my band, this is my arse, are you with me?” The crowd was lifted to new heights with hits like “Let Me Entertain You,” and the classics continued, making it a concert that won the hearts of many.

The VAILO Adelaide 500 after-race concert has a history of featuring music giants, with previous acts including Robbie Williams himself, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Santana, KISS, and Mötley Crüe. The question on everyone’s lips now is, who’s next?

Coldplay emerges as a top contender for the coveted slot, especially considering there are currently no Adelaide dates on their 2024 tour itinerary. Fans are crossing their fingers for the chance to hear chart-topping hits like “Fix You,” “Yellow,” and “Viva la Vida” in the heart of Adelaide.

However, Coldplay isn’t the only musical powerhouse touring Australia in 2024. Artists like Taylor Swift, Pink, and Simple Plan are also on the list of potential headliners.

With a track record of delivering unforgettable performances, the bar has been set high for 2024.
