Colour in Fashion for 2013

An innovative partnership between the colour experts at Australia’s leading paint brand, Dulux and L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2013 will translate the latest looks from the runway into innovative ideas for the home.

Dulux will collaborate with Australian fashion designers to showcase the indelible link colour has between fashion and interior design trends.

Dulux Colour and Communications Consultant, Bree Leech, says the collaboration is an exciting one for Dulux.

“Fashion is one of the most important influences on paint colour trends and today that influence extends to application as well,” she said.

“I am sure we will see key colour, print and pattern trends from Australian designers similar to those in our 2013 Dulux Colour Forecast; ‘Colour Movement’.

“From bold colour combinations and geometric patterns to painterly effects and watercolour washes, Dulux will capture the latest catwalk looks for the home.”

As part of the sponsorship, Dulux will be co-presenter of the ‘LMFF Windows by Design Presented by City of Melbourne and Dulux’, transforming the Melbourne CBD into a stylish landscape of art-inspired installations.

Some of Melbourne’s most iconic retailers will offer up their street-side windows to a multitude of local design talent to collaborate with Dulux and develop eye-catching window displays bringing the city alive for the month of March.

“It will be a visual treasure hunt for everyone to enjoy,” said Bree.

Graeme Lewsey, LMFF CEO said the Festival was excited to have the involvement of Dulux.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dulux, our first sponsor in our newly developed Lifestyle sponsorship category to the Festival.”

“As a consumer focused event for everyone to enjoy, the take home insights of the Festival's unique, publicly accessed content has now truly gone one step further, inspiring homes and personal surrounds thanks to Dulux's clever partnership with the Festival and our industry,” Mr Lewsey said.
