Some of the world’s best stand-up comedians and up and coming performers are donating their time to come together in the one Adelaide Fringe show; Comedy Gala, to help end drug and alcohol fuelled youth violence.
The Sammy D Foundation Comedy Gala now in its sixth year, will be held at the Adelaide Town Hall on Sunday 22 February, with the event previously attracting leading comics such as Arj Barker, Fiona O’Loughlin, Frank Woodley, Amos Gill, Tom Ballard and Denise Scott.
“The Comedy Gala has become known as being a bit like a box of chocolates, you never know what or who you’re going to get until the show begins,” Sammy D Foundation Chairman Brett Duncanson says.
“It’s a popular annual event where you can see the most comedians performing in one place at the Fringe which helps raise money to assist the Foundation deliver our effective youth education and mentoring programs.
“Year after year, we are overwhelmed with the generosity of the star studded line-up of comedians who perform unpaid at the Comedy Gala.”
Hosted by multi-award winning comedian Michael Bowley, this year’s line-up includes many famous comics recognised on the comedy circuit, Australian television and radio, whose names will be kept under wraps for the surprise element of the show.
