Comfort Food Cabaret Sensation Back With Another Feast For The Senses

After a smashing 2017 Adelaide Fringe season, SA audiences have a final few opportunities to see the original award-winning show before version two is produced for the 2018 Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Michelle Pearson’s Comfort Food Cabaret is a truly unique food-cabaret experience which walks the line between a cooking demo, supper club and cabaret performance. Within the show, Michelle cooks a three-course meal and feeds the audience, weaving in personal stories and moving renditions of popular rock, pop and jazz hits accompanied by Loren Quinn in the kitchen and maestro, Aaron Nash..

After a smashing 2017 Adelaide Fringe season, SA audiences have a final few opportunities to see the original award-winning show before version two is produced for the 2018 Adelaide Fringe Festival. Michelle and her team will be performing Comfort Food Cabaret as a three course dinner experience at Mercato in Campbelltown on the 6th of October and this show is almost sold out. Michelle will then return to her favourite McLaren Vale winery, Fox Creek Wines, on Saturday 4 November to present the show as an intimate wine dinner in the new Helen Watts Learning Centre. This premium food, wine and cabaret experience will include a three course meal with matching Fox Creek Wines by the award winning McLaren Vale producer.

The show was hugely popular with Adelaide Fringe audiences and reviewers and has grown in success since its debut in February. Michelle and her well-fed musicians and kitchen team played to over 900 people at the iconic Adelaide Central Market where audiences enjoyed Pearson’s exquisite voice, her welcoming hospitality, heart-warming and hilarious stories and a selection of Michelle’s favourite comfort food.

Michelle recently performed Comfort Food Cabaret as a dinner party in a luxurious Melbourne Penthouse as part of the Melbourne Fringe over three consecutive nights. The debut Melbourne season received rave reviews and Comfort Food Cabaret will return to Victoria in 2018 for several food and music festivals.

Having recently taken out South Australia’s highest award for cabaret at the Adelaide Theatre Guide Awards for her musical-foodie project, Comfort Food Cabaret, there’s no better time to experience not only Michelle’s voice but her delicious cooking for yourself.

The 2017 Gala Dinner & “Curtain Call” Awards Night took place on Saturday 2 September at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre which exists to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in live theatre. Michelle took out the award for Best Cabaret (professional) after it received wide spread critical acclaim in its debut season at the 2017 Adelaide Fringe.

I am so honoured to receive this award as Comfort Food Cabaret was so special to me and it is absolutely brilliant to be recognised for my efforts and work around this food and musical project. Thank you to judges of the Adelaide Theatre Guide and the event organisers for awarding me such recognition. I’d also love to thank my team, Aaron Nash, Michael Ciaramella and Loren Quinn and all of the volunteers and wonderful audiences – Michelle Pearson
