COMING SOON: Adelaide influencer Eli Moulton, launches nanny and personal training service

A new Adelaide fitness studio is launching in the eastern suburbs, designed to give working mums flexibility without compromise.

It’s a not-so-quiet frustration for a new mother, to make everything fit into one day. It’s overwhelming and stressful, trying to juggle your baby while running on other people’s schedules

For a mother of two, Eli Moulton, this is where she found herself at a turning point, and sparked her newest venture – Em Body.

For a mother of two, Eli Moulton, this was a turning point that sparked her newest venture, Em Body. A personal training studio, with a full-time nanny service, designed for mums looking for a more flexible way to exercise.

“I’m at another crossroads after having (another baby). I’m a working mum, and I’m struggling to find facilities in Adelaide that cater for care options at times that actually work for me.”

Although gyms in Adelaide do offer care options, the session times just didn’t suit Eli and her little one’s needs.

“Adelaide has some incredible gyms that offer a 9:30 am or 10:30 am crèche option, but personally, I can’t make that work with getting to work afterwards,” she said.

As the founder of Plus One, an inclusive dress hire platform with one of Adelaide’s largest ranges of maternity styles, Eli knows a thing or two about business.

“I’m someone who likes to act on the situation I’m in,” Eli said. “When I’m personally struggling to find a business or something that suits me, that’s usually when ideas come to life.”

So she turned to her followers just a couple of months ago. “I started deep diving and asked on my own social media if I’d missed something. Was there somewhere I could go where Rocky and Teddy could come, whether it was 7:30 am or 2 pm?”

The lack of answers and influx of messages agreeing with her mission to find an exercise spot with a good nanny service was telling. A gap in the market had presented itself, one that needed filling, and no time was wasted getting to work.

“My background is in fitness… and I worked in the industry for 11 years.” She’d taught classes, coached clients, and owned a personal training studio in Adelaide before pregnancy shifted priorities.

“The idea is a personal training studio with an adjacent crèche room, plus another room with cots and a full-time nanny caring for the kids.”

While onsite childcare is the selling point, her personal training slots can go to any woman, whether they have children or not.

“I love forming relationships, and I especially love supporting women in postpartum.”

“It might be a new mum, a mum of four, or a woman without kids at all,” she said. The nanny service is an added option, not a requirement “any woman can come train.”

If all goes to plan (which sometimes is never the case) Em Body will be opening up its studio in early April, around the Norwood and Burnside area.

“If I can help women in that phase build confidence in a one-on-one environment, knowing their child is well looked after, that’s huge.”
