As if Adelaide’s cosiest hills suburb couldn’t get any more delightful, Hahndorf will now be the endearing home of Bracegirdle’s newest café, set to open just in time for Christmas – fingers crossed!
That’s right, the award-winning house of fine chocolate will be opening up their fourth location in South Australia to expand into the Adelaide Hills. Their other three locations – Cross Road, Blackwood, and McLaren Vale – have grown in popularity over the years, with the business quickly becoming a local favourite for anyone seeking their chocolate fix.
The new café will be located at 102 Mt Barker Rd in an adorably stunning cottage with a fascinating history: the cottage was actually built using timber from a nearby tree, under which the first wedding in the area was hosted. The location will feature a bright, spacious café dining area, soon to be home to all your Bracegirdle’s favourites and some exciting new additions.
The cottage also features a wide laneway off to the side, where the Hahndorf Christmas Markets are held. Bracegirdle’s be part of the iconic festivities alongside Little Juniper Gin, who will be doing gin tastings.
Bracegirdle’s chocolatiers pride themselves on the innovative and the delicate balance achieved between the chocolate and featured flavours of their creations. They’ve been serving up decadent desserts and delicious coffees since 2005, investing time, energy, and money into their chocolatiers, a philosophy which has paid off, as the company now operates in three Adelaide locations, with a fourth on the way.
The local South Australian family-run business employs more than 40 staff in three Adelaide retail and café locations. The new location in Hahndorf will create jobs and contribute to the thriving local community and business hub.
“We can’t wait to join the Hahndorf community and welcome you into our newest Bracegirdle’s home.”
As Australia’s most decorated artisan chocolatier, Bracegirdle’s award-winning, delicately crafted handmade chocolates are made by an exceptional team of talented chocolatiers in Adelaide. They’ve won awards across Australia, bringing home the gold at ceremonies in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Hobart and, of course, our home town.
Their products have no preservatives and are completely handmade, offering a range of custom design chocolates depending on the occasion. At their fetching Adelaide cafés, you can even peer through windows into the kitchen to observe the chocolate being made, which we’re hoping will be a continued feature at the new location once it’s open.
Also, if anyone’s in the market for a new job, they’re hiring! What could be better than getting paid to be surrounded by chocolate? If you’re interested in joining their Hahndorf team, head over to their website for more info.
With the new spot slated to open just in time for Christmas, I’m sure the chocolate lovers of South Australia will be forming a lengthy line down Mt. Barker Road on opening day. So whether you’re a local or anyone on the hunt for a new favourite chocolate and coffee spot, be sure to visit Bracegirdle’s new café, opening in Hahndorf any day now.
