Drunk’n Monkey Indian Tapas Bar and Restaurant is shaking up the culinary scene once again, announcing the grand opening of their second branch in Hampstead Gardens this June. Renamed Drunken Monkey Indian Grill & Street Eats, this new location promises to infuse Indian flavours with a dash of Western culture.

Owner Mani Randhawa is pulling out all the stops with the new space, allowing customers an exclusive look at their chefs in action.

“For our second branch, we have planned to integrate a live kitchen in our restaurant so that our customers can get a look at what they are eating and enjoy the process,” Mani said.

Drunk’n Monkey will transport diners to the bustling streets of India by incorporating popular street food, including the beloved Pani Puri (Deep-fried breaded hollow spherical shell filled with finely diced potato, onion, peas and chickpea), served fresh from the live station.

Since its inception on O’Connell Street in 2017, Drunk’n Monkey has captured the hearts and taste buds of Adelaide’s culinary enthusiasts. It takes people on a tour of India’s rich and vibrant culinary landscape, offering beloved classics like creamy Butter Chicken, tangy Dahi Bhalla Chaat, flavorful Pav Bhaji, crispy Dosas, and aromatic Biryanis.

What sets Drunk’n Monkey apart is their commitment to quality, as they source locally produced ingredients to ensure freshness and excellence in every dish. Whether you’re indulging in a Western delight or savouring a traditional Indian delicacy, you can trust that each ingredient has been carefully selected to deliver the finest dining experience to their cherished customers.

For its quirky yet contemporary approach to traditional Indian cuisine, the restaurant has carved a niche in the community, promising an unforgettable dining experience with every visit.

Looking ahead, Randhawa reveals ambitious expansion plans, eyeing other locales within Adelaide to ensure everyone can experience the delicious food.

“In a few years, we plan to open branches in other areas of Adelaide, like the city and Glenelg. As a family business, we plan to expand our business in a much broader sense in the next few years,” he said.

To celebrate its grand opening, Drunk’n Monkey will offer 20–40% discounts on launch day, ensuring everyone can join the festivities. From classic favourites like chole kulche and tawa chicken to live tandoor specialities and sizzling hot tikkis, there’s something to delight every palate.
