Restaurateurs Kate and Boyd are about to unveil their passion project, a delicious sandwich and coffee spot just north of the CBD. 55 King William Road, North Adelaide, will be host to the brand new innovative, Thai-inspired delicatessen.
Kate tells us that SATHU’s aim to match the hustle and bustle of the city with mouthwatering ready-to-go sandwiches and tasty treats, all the while spreading positivity through warm interactions and a wonderfully inviting space.
Kate and Boyd are no strangers to hospitality, having owned rustic favourite, UR Caffee on Melbourne St since 2011. After a stint in real estate, Kate couldn’t help but miss the hospo world, and when the opportunity to open their dream deli opened up, she knew it was meant to be. Now they’re back at it, the couple are cherishing the thrilling highs and lows of being small business owners while savouring all the opportunities to pick up new skills.
The pair have had their eyes on the King William space for almost a decade, and Kate declared that the site coming up for lease truly was a dream come true.
Speaking about her Thai background and her endlessly inspiring travels, Kate says she plans to combine the vibrancy and passion from delis in Thailand, Italy and Japan to bring a distinctive sandwich and coffee spot that still celebrates local.
The name, SATHU’s reinforces the link between their Thai roots while calling South Australia home. The name is a fusion of both backgrounds, meaning SA TH(ai) Unite.
Using delightful flavour combinations, and top-notch local ingredients, the duo are excited to showcase their beautiful fluffy Italian Schiacciata bread, along with local D’Angelo coffee beans and Fleurieu milk.
Opening their doors this winter, SATHU’s are committed to bringing excitement and flavour to the lunch rush.
