There’s a reason Glenelg is such a popular spot. It’s got pretty much everything you need and come summer time it’s generally the place to be but there is one thing missing. You may have noticed the precinct has a giant, beer garden-shaped hole but that is all about to change.
Local eatery Terra & Sol has become a favourite in the area since its opening almost two years ago and now, the eye-catching bar and restaurant is expanding with yes, that’s right, a beer garden.
Owner and operator Brock Meuris said he’s excited to be able to bring the space to Glenelg. “We had a massive summer just in the little area we currently have and we realised it’s the one thing missing from the area. The opportunity then popped up for us to expand and so we just went for it.
“We’re absolutely loving it at the moment. We have so much fun here every day and we want to be able to share that with more and more people so expanding just feels like the right thing to do.”
Set to open mid-October, the outdoor space will be a hub for live entertainment. “Entertainment is a massive thing for us and we’ve got such amazing talent in Adelaide that we definitely wanted to create a space to showcase that,” says Brock.
And while you’re out the back, soaking up the sun listening to the best live tunes Adelaide has to offer, you’ll be treated to the signature cocktails, local wines and delicious food that you already know and love.
But it doesn’t stop there. Not only are Terra & Sol creating Glenelg’s first beer garden, but the team are also adding a huge, new function space! Taking over the adjacent building, a passageway will connect the two buildings levelling up the venue’s space 5 times the size it is now.
The new function area will be available to host any and all events and if it’s anywhere near as aesthetically pleasing as the current interior then you all know exactly where I’ll be having my next birthday (and probably the one after that).
Works have already begun on the exciting changes with Brock advising they will need to close for a period of time later in the year when it comes to the crunchy end but will re-open all guns blazing after that.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Terra & Sol is already a one-stop shop with the venue seamlessly transitioning from gourmet eatery to funky bar with just the setting of the sun. And now, with the addition of the outside area, you’ll be able to party in the summer heat from noon til night.
