COMING SOON: Hommey brings its cult-fave homewares to the East End with first interstate store

Melbourne-born lifestyle brand Hommey is set to open its first South Australian store, bringing its beloved robes, bedding and homewares to Adelaide just in time for Christmas.

Melbourne-born lifestyle brand, Hommey, is officially Adelaide-bound, bringing its cult-favourite homewares and decor to the heart of the East End just in time for Christmas. Known nationwide for its plush terry robes, organic bedding and design-led home essentials, Hommey will open the doors to its first South Australian store on Rundle Street on Wednesday, December 18th. And to make it even more special, this is Hommey’s first interstate location outside Victoria.

Since launching in 2020, Hommey has achieved cult status by proving that everyday essentials can be elevated and effortless. Their robes have taken on a world of their own online, their GOTS-certified bedding sells out repeatedly, and their textural, ultra-soft cushions have become the unofficial decor staple of modern homes across Australia. Now, Adelaide shoppers will finally be able to experience the tactile magic of Hommey in person, with the brand set to unveil its fifth retail space in a location chosen for its accessibility and unmistakable East End energy.

Designed in collaboration with Melbourne architecture and interiors studio, the new store is built on the bones of Zimmermann’s former flagship. The space has been transformed into a warm, contemporary living-room-style interior. Designed to be ultra comfy, the space will feature modular displays, soft neutrals, layered textures and the kind of effortless, elevated comfort that forms the backbone of the Hommey ethos. Every corner has been curated to feel inviting and personal, encouraging visitors to touch, test and style pieces just as they would at home.

The full Hommey collection will be on show, including the viral Terry Robes, the reversible Versa Bedding Collection, and the newly launched Oasis bathroom range. To sweeten the deal, exclusive opening offers and gifts with purchase will greet early shoppers.

Founder Justin Kestelman says the Adelaide store is a moment the brand has long been working toward. “This is our first store in Adelaide, and our first store outside of Vic, which is massive for us. Shoppers can see and feel everything in person, mix and match colours, and take it home that day. Plus, our team can help with styling tips and recommendations.”

He added that choosing Rundle Street was an easy decision. “Rundle Street is where everyone goes. It’s the heart of Adelaide retail, and that energy suits us perfectly. The mix of heritage and modern feels very Hommey, and being around other quality retailers means we’re reaching people who get good design.”

With only a week until Christmas, the timing couldn’t be better. “Opening on the 18th gives people a solid week before Christmas, which is ideal for last-minute gifts or refreshing your space before hosting. The opening offers make it a great time to pop in and treat yourself or someone else.”

And if you’re looking for the ultimate gift this festive season, Justin says that their robes are hands down the best option. “They’re an easy gift option given the forgiving size, variety of colours and generally speaking, not a product people have. It’s thoughtful and considered, and not to mention, they’ve sold out ten times for a reason, everyone becomes obsessed. If you want to go that extra mile, you can get them a matching hair wrap.”

Modern and stylish, while unmistakably homely, Hommey’s arrival on Rundle Street is bringing a warm hug to Adelaide’s retail scene, just in time for the Christmas season.
