Popular Adelaide-based brow and makeup artist, Millie Herd, is gearing up to return home to King William Road, bringing her exquisite artistry and over 15 years of industry experience back to the city fringe.
For over a decade, Millie has created a signature style that has kept people coming back. She specialises in brow shaping, bridal and event makeup, and has become so popular due to her natural but elevated approach.
“Coming back to King William Road really does feel like a full-circle moment,” shared Millie.
“It’s where MH was born, where clients first connected with the brand, and where the foundations of everything MH does were built.”
After spending so long in the area, with a short hiatus in between, a huge part of Millie’s decision to return was about staying loyal to the area where her clients have supported the brand from the very beginning. At the moment, Millie has been based in a temporary home at Glam Society Adelaide, in Kings Park.
“MH has always believed in the importance of having a base – a home – and tradition is a big part of what defines the brand. So, when it came time to find a new space, King William just felt right. The street is buzzing again with energy, creativity, and community, and being part of that once more felt like the natural next step. Plus, it has that extra touch of luxe that aligns perfectly with the MH experience.”
While an opening date for the new studio is yet to be revealed, there’s plenty for returning and new clients to look forward to.
“This next chapter is a fresh start, an elevated version of what MH had before. Think calm, considered vibes, beautiful scents, curated music, warm tones, and zoned lighting. There’ll be subtle nods to the old space, familiar but evolved. It’s still MH at heart, just with a more refined look and feel that really reflects where MH is now, both personally and professionally,” says Millie.
The new space is an evolution of the Millie Herd brand, and will reflect what the team envision for the future. Throughout the design process and while bringing the studio to life, Millie has been and will continue to be very hands-on.
“The creative freedom has been a joy, but the process also comes with plenty of ideas. That’s where the pros come in. MH has been lucky to have a few fairy godmothers who’ve helped take the chaos of Pinterest-filled inspiration and turn it into something beautiful and cohesive.
“It’s been so special to create a space that reflects everything MH has learned over the years – what’s needed, what clients love, and how MH wants people to feel when they walk through the door.”
Millie says the creative direction for this new space is all about opportunity and growth. With a goal to create a space that feels comfortable and inviting, the new studio will be softer and more refined. And while the team is keeping things under wraps for now, Millie says to keep an eye out on socials for the big reveal.
Keep up to date with the process on the new studio on Instagram, @millieherd.
