There’s a new venue coming to the CBD and it’s unlike any other that Adelaide has seen. Located in the heart of Adelaide’s party passage on Hindley Street, Cherry Nightclub will bring house party vibes to the city meaning you can party Project X style each and every weekend.
“We wanted to create something a bit different,” said Marketing Manager, Tom Ganly. “It’s going to be a really fun, loose vibe and we wanted to get really creative with the whole concept of the venue.”
So, what is it exactly that makes Cherry different from your average Hindley Street hang-out? Well for starters, the music. Cherry is the ultimate fun house with all the party music you know and love from commercial to R&B. The two-storey venue, which will open in two stages, will see the bottom floor be a dedicated R&B party basement and cocktail lounge leaving the top storey to pump out dance tunes.
But it’s not just the music that sets the venue apart with the owners really wanting to tap into that Y2K MTV feel but with a modern twist – think TikTok interviews, live MCs, roaming content, the whole shebang. Resident hosts include Fresh 92.7 hosts Lauren ‘Davo’ Davidson, Tayla Mezzino as well as DJs Holliii, Jaxon and Nineoneone.
They’ll even be bringing back the beloved song request so you’ll no longer be crucified for shouting over the decks to hear your favourite song because that type of behaviour is fully encouraged. In fact, all raucous behaviour is very welcome at Cherry (within reason) and if you follow the lead of the bar staff who’ll be running around having the time of their lives, you will too.
Open from Wednesday – Saturday, weeknights at Cherry are a little more tame, operating mainly as a bespoke cocktail bar before things really kick into gear on Friday night for the ultimate house party followed by R&B and party anthems taking over the sound waves on Saturday.
Due to open in mid-September, an epic launch party is obviously on the cards with invites available here. Keep in mind over 1200 people have already registered to join the biggest party of the Spring so get in quick if you don’t want to miss out!
