Luciano’s Marina Pier is grandiose yet welcoming, with glowing lights complete with cobbled walls, tuscan pinks, and an Italian-inspired menu.
Formerly the location of Esca, new restaurant Luciano’s officially opened its doors on December 7.
Georgie Weber, Restaurant Manger of Luciano’s Marina Pier, says of the restaurant, “Think Italian with the vibe of the Amalfi coast. It’ll be great dining located in arguably SA’s best dual waterfront location.”
Luciano’s celebrates fresh, traditional Italian food and harnesses “favourite Italy dining memories”.
The restaurant’s signature dish is House Made Gnocchetti with SA crab meat, tomato, chilli, and mascarpone. Another buzz-worthy menu item is the Calamari Fritti, which features fried SA squid, zucchini, parsley aioli, and lemon.
In keeping with its homage to Italian dining, Luciano’s menu includes a prominent pizza offering. The restaurant makes its pizza “as old school as it gets” but emphasis that “rules are great for learning but also made to be broken”.
The oven is hand built and can reach 400+ degrees, allowing Luciano’s to bake its pizza in less than two minutes. Apparently, this method results in the dough puffing around the edges of the pizza, trapping the flavours of the toppings.
Marina Pier is just twenty minutes from the Adelaide CBD and is renowned for its seaside food and wine culture, of which Luciano’s is now a part of.
