It can be difficult for vegetarians to find enough interesting dining options, especially when they’re craving something specific, like Vietnamese food. Thankfully, a new Vietnamese cafe called One 2 Go is set to open its doors in Mansfield Park this September, offering family-orientated vegetarian dining experiences to their hungry customers.
Hoping to become “the first thought on diners’ minds when they’re craving some home-made vegetarian food”, One 2 Go is set to offer customers a menu highlighted by vegetarian family recipes in a cozy and homely environment in Adelaide’s north-western suburbs.
The menu will feature staple Vietnamese dishes such as Pho, Com Tam (combination rice), Bun Rieu (seafood broth), cold rolls, and bun bowls. They’ll also be dishing out weekly dinner and drinks specials, so keep an eye out on their socials for menu updates.
The inspiration to open a restaurant came from the owner’s mother, Thu, considered “the genius brain” behind their menu. Thu began cooking vegetarian food for a Buddhist youth group on Sundays, a passion that grew when she became a full-time vegetarian. One 2 Go wish to promote the message that vegetarian and plant-based food can be incredibly flavourful, and seek to provide another dining option for part-time and full-time vegetarians.
As a small family business, One 2 Go want to “keep things simple and let the food and drinks speak for themselves”. Even the name of their business is a play on the names of the owner’s parents: Oanh (pronounced “one”) and Thu.
With work on the interior still in progress, One 2 Go are hopeful for a grand opening on the 14th of September. During opening weekend, they’re excited to offer a few alluring promotions, including a free drink with every meal and a 10% discount for orders over $45.
