COMING SOON: Popular Melbourne frozen yoghurt spot to open second Adelaide store

Melbourne-based frozen yogurt and acai brand Yo-Bar is expanding its presence in Adelaide, launching a second store in Glenelg.

Melbourne’s popular self-serve frozen yoghurt and acai store, Yo-Bar, is gearing up to open its second Adelaide store, bringing its sweet treats beachside.

“Yo-Bar started in 2023, we’re a Melbourne-based business,” shared a Yo-Bar spokesperson.

“We opened our first store in Bentleigh, which is a really small strip in Melbourne. At that initial store, we had heaps of the local community come in and check it out and everyone loved it. We had such a positive reaction that we opened three more stores in the first year.

“We opened Bentleigh, then St Kilda, Camberwell, and Collingwood. Then this year we added our huge Chadstone store, which was a crazy move for us. It was a big risk, but definitely paid off, it’s our busiest store by far.

“Then we decided that we wanted to go interstate, and started looking around the country to find a city that connected with the brand. Our owners have a real love for Adelaide and they saw a massive opportunity for the brand.”

Joining the Rundle Street store will be a new, much larger location in Glenelg. The new store is set to open on Saturday, March 22nd.

“It’s been awesome opening up in Adelaide. Rundle Street was an obvious spot for us, it’s smack bang in the middle of the city. Our owners were also looking at the beach towns, and really liked the vibe of the whole strip in Glenelg, it reminded them a bit of St Kilda.”

The goal for the Glenelg store is to make it a welcoming community spot. The store will have lots of seating and will be a great spot for locals to hang out and catch up over a delicious sweet treat.

“Our goal was always to do fro-yo very differently, a with a more premium approach. We have fruit cups and sauce taps, and as many topping options as you can think of, from the healthy to the not-so-healthy.”

At Yo-Bar you’ll find both a yoghurt and a topping selection that’s pretty unbeatable.

“We’ve got over sixty toppings, which is a lot to choose from, but I think it’s great to have that many options.”

From fresh fruit and granola to cookies and chocolates, there’s something for everyone. And with yoghurt in all flavours and even acai, these bowls can be made to perfectly suit the customer.

“We’ve really nailed down our quality, our yogurt recipe uses quality cow’s milk, it’s so creamy. Our acai is also one of the most premium acai’s on the market, which has significantly less sugar than some others you’ll find.
