As South Australians we are extremely passionate and patriotic when it comes to our favourite bakeries.
Some of us will drive up to four hours and then line up down the street for the perfect pastie, melt in your mouth meat pie (with sauce of course), or the most on trend dessert donut craze.
Now, one of Australia’s most awarded bakeries Banana Boogie, recently given the gong for 1st & 2nd in Australia for the Best Hot Cross Buns in Australia and winning a swag of gold medals at the Royal Adelaide Show, are switching up their North Plympton store to Raw Bliss Pantry.
Last year Banana Boogie bought Raw Bliss Desserts and are now excited to be expanding the vegan dessert brand into its very own store.
“The Raw Bliss previous owners have done such an amazing job building a small vegan treat business from a high school project to market stalls, then to supplying up to 100 different cafes across South Australia,” said owner Jason Spencer on their social media.
“After we purchased Raw Bliss, we kept the business growing and as with anything Banana Boogie do, it’s time to take this bakery to the next level.
“Rather than try find a new spot for Raw Bliss to grow, we decided to donate the North Plympton Banana Boogie store to Raw Bliss so we can continue to provide a healthy alternative to a bakery within the amazing community we have down there.”
Although many North Plympton Banana Boogie Bakery fans are devastated that they will no longer be able to get their award-winning vanilla slices from this location, the Banana Boogie team have promised that they will continue to provide some classic healthy Banana Boogie options.
One loyal Banana Boogie Facebook fan Kris Lorraine commented “it’s only 13kms from Plympton to Belair – a true connoisseur of the world’s best vanilla slice would travel 200 kms to get one!”
“We will continue to provide coffees along with some gorgeous new products that are in the works including a whole new range of wraps, sandwiches, bagels, salads, smoothies and bowls also with some awesome vegan pastries supplied by the OG Boogie bakers,” said Jason.
The North Plympton store will now be known as the Raw Bliss Pantry – The Home of Wholesome Vegan Desserts. The official opening will be Saturday 1 April.
But stay tuned… more big things in the works! But we have been sworn to secrecy.
Don’t think you could enjoy a vegan dessert? We challenge you to support the new store and we guarantee you’ll fall in love with one or more of their yummy offerings.
