Seafood fans, get ready for a Cajun feast as hotspot Kickin’Inn is taking its saucy, peppery, and mouthwateringly morish flavours to the Northeast. The seafood chain just announced the arrival of its second Adelaide location in the Gilles Plains Shopping Centre, with doors due to swing open mid-July.
What began in a home kitchen between friends Sami and Ravi in 2018 has now grown into a bustling Australia-wide business, entirely led by the founding duo. The new location marks their 26th store, helping to reach the goal of 50 Kickin’Inn restaurants by 2030.

So what makes Kickin’Inn so damn inn-credible?
“Kickin’Inn offers a unique, hands-on seafood dining experience unlike any traditional restaurant,” says Natasha Nguyen, representative of the business.
The experience is the perfect mix of fun, flavour and affordability. The restaurant specialises in Cajun food, a seafood-heavy and spice-driven cuisine with a signature seasoning of cayenne pepper, bell pepper, garlic, paprika and green onions.
Kickin’ Inn’s signature seafood boil is a customisable food-safe seafood bag. You choose your seafood and seasoning, it’s poured on the table, sizzling hot, and you dive in fingers first – with gloves and a bib to assist.
There are succulent prawns, tender crab legs, plump mussels, crawfish, and a seasoning blend Sami and Ravi spent three years creating. But the star of the show is the Cajun-style sauce, “developed and perfected over time to complement every bite,” Natasha explains.
“It’s designed to be shared, enjoyed with your hands, and yes, to get a little messy! It’s all part of the fun,” she adds.
The energy of the Wright Street location is second to none. It’s bright, full of steaming seafood sprawled across butcher’s paper on the table, prawn cocktails, and a constant stream of laughter from everyone getting their hands dirty.
Mums, dads, first dates, family parties – Kickin’Inn spares nobody from its finger lickin’ fun, and the Gilles Plains location is set to bring all the messy magic to the burbs.
“The Gilles Plains location will offer the same vibrant, social atmosphere Kickin’Inn is known for,” says Natasha.
“Located in the heart of the Gilles Plains Shopping Centre, it’s easily accessible with on-site parking and promises a unique dining experience that brings friends and families together over great food and flavour.”
Aside from the flavours and fun, the Sami and Ravi are steadfast in their locally focused approach to business. The chain champions local produce, hires local staff and carries a customer-first ethos – the goal is to provide a memorable experience because “every Australian deserves a great time.”
To celebrate the new Gilles Plains location, every table that books for the opening day will receive a complimentary shrimp martini, which, according to Natasha, is a “fan favourite and an absolute must-try.”
“It’s bold, flavour-packed, and Instagram-worthy,” she adds.
And with comments like “it’s feedin’ time.. we need pelican bibs for adults..” and “this is closer to my house now! We can leave the boys at home and go,” it’s clear Gilles Plains locals have an appetite for it.
