After opening its doors almost nine years ago, in March, 2017, Port Noarlunga’s Coffee Factory Café is supersizing its location after taking over the longstanding Natural Dental Clinic next door, and renovations are already underway.
The 2024 Nova 919 award-winning “Adelaide’s Most Awesome Coffee” location had dreams of expanding since moving into 13 Gawler Street, Port Noarlunga. A prospect that only months ago became a reality for owner Michael Russo.
“There were massive delays. We have been trying to get in there since we entered the original space over eight years ago. We only just found out, maybe in the last four months, what was happening with the neighbouring business. After a meeting and carrying out a deal, the Natural Dental Clinic then vacated and moved across the road. We can actually still see the former business.”
Although this very important step in the development is now completed, the real work is still assuredly on the drawing board.
“It is a more than 100-year-old heritage building. So, the history goes back a long time, it’s going to be a lengthy process to get this renovation up and running, including approvals – probably at least six to eight months.”
This exciting extension will allow for a range of opportunities for Michael, the staff, and the much-adored Coffee Factory Café. As he describes, the vision is one of advancement on multiple levels.
“We are going to do a new kitchen and add a new dining area,” he said. “The new computer systems are already up and running. QR Code ordering will certainly happen – the whole place is getting a massive face lift! We will probably alter our menu options too.
For the time being, it is business as usual for the prize-winning Coffee Factory Café with its renowned delicious breakfast and lunch menus, including vegan options.
