The Mustard Seed is about to unveil a brand new look in Murray Bridge, with owner Satbir Uppal promising a dining experience unlike anything the town has seen before.
“Aston Hills Mustard Seed was born from a simple yet powerful idea, to redefine the image of Indian restaurants,” owener Satbir explains.
“We wanted to move away from the outdated, loud themes of the past and create a space that feels modern, aesthetic, and truly welcoming.”
“A place where guests can savour authentic Indian cuisine while enjoying a thoughtfully designed ambiance that reflects both tradition and contemporary elegance.”

That philosophy has already proven itself in Mount Barker, where the Aston Hills venue has drawn crowds well beyond the local community.
“Today, Mustard Seed at Aston Hills has grown into a destination not just for locals, but for guests travelling from places like Salisbury, Virginia and beyond, drawn by the unique ambiance and elevated dining experience we offer.”

“The response has been overwhelming, and it’s clear that people are ready for a new kind of Indian restaurant,” she adds.
Now, Murray Bridge is next in line to share the experience.
“Murray Bridge is a beautiful town, but when it comes to dining, options have been limited, especially beyond the well-known Bridgeport Hotel,” she says.
“At Mustard Seed, we’re excited to offer the community a fresh alternative. A thoughtfully designed space where people can enjoy a high-quality dining experience, modern ambiance, and a menu that brings together the best Indian and now Middle Eastern flavours.”
That blend is something Satbir feels is central to what makes the brand unique.
“We’ve added a Mediterranean touch to our menu to cater to a wider range of tastes” says Satbir.
“While parents often crave the rich, comforting flavours of Indian curries, we’ve noticed that younger generations are drawn to the vibrant, fresh appeal of Middle Eastern cuisine.”
“Our goal is to bring families together so everyone can enjoy their favourite dishes without compromising on taste.”

The look of the new restaurant will echo the signature style developed at Aston Hills.
“A white ambiance paired with elegant gold finishes and the refreshing touch of lots of green plants creates a serene, modern space where guests can relax and enjoy their meal,” Satbir says.
Even the tableware is part of the story.
“Meals arrive on elegant green and white crockery, thoughtfully paired with gold cutlery, adding a touch of luxury to every bite.”
Behind the scenes, consistency is non-negotiable with multiple venues.
“Every recipe on our menu has been carefully crafted with thought, passion, and precision. To maintain consistency across all locations, all our chefs undergo hands-on training at our flagship kitchen in Hahndorf before joining any of our other venues. This ensures they are fully equipped to deliver the authentic flavours and presentation that define Mustard Seed.”
“Our front-of-house team also follows well-established service policies designed to create a warm, smooth, and memorable dining experience for every guest.”
The exact date for the reopening will be announced soon, but Satbir is confident Murray Bridge is in for something special in early to mid-September.
