One of Adelaide’s most iconic dining institutions is getting ready to fire up the griddle in the north-east, with The Original Pancake Kitchen set to open a brand-new venue in Golden Grove at the end of August.
The Original Pancake Kitchen has been a late-night legend in the Adelaide CBD since 1965. It is famous for its fluffy stacks, sweet toppings and diner-style charm.
Now the cult-favourite eatery is heading to Golden Grove, as Cafe Settebello closes, bringing its syrupy goodness with a fresh new fit-out and that signature all-day breakfast.
“Residents in the north have been calling for a Pancake Kitchen, and we can’t wait to bring the brand to Golden Grove,” says Mitchell Sariovski, Director of The Original Pancake Kitchen.
“This is one of South Australia’s oldest restaurant brands, and the northern suburbs deserve to enjoy our sweet and savoury treats closer to home.”
The new venue will serve up the same crowd-pleasing comfort food and thick milkshakes as the city spot. The menu will also include burgers, desserts and a few modern touches to suit the local community.
“Golden Grove will deliver the same quality food and exceptional service our other locations offer,” Mitchell says.
“It will have the nostalgic charm with a more modern, family-friendly feel.”
With locations already thriving in Adelaide, the Marion Cultural Centre and Port Adelaide, this latest opening continues the brand’s steady growth across the suburbs.
“We know this location is going to be popular, especially with our world-famous pancake recipe,” says Mitchell.
“Everyone in South Australia knows The Original Pancake Kitchen and has a story from when they were a child.”
It is this connection that keeps the brand relevant. The goal is to stay true to its roots while welcoming a new generation of pancake lovers.
