If you’ve been on the hunt for a fresh and flavourful dessert in the past few years, you would have surely come across the massive takeover of frozen yogurt and acai places. Twist & Top is the latest shop getting in on the fro-yo trend and it’s had a big rebrand ahead of adding some new healthy options to the menu.
Twist & Top is set to move into 187C Rundle Street in the Adelaide CBD before the end of April, with the exact date still to be decided. It will feature a much needed interior revamp, with everything from the ceiling to the floor getting a freshen up.

Many will recognise the location, as 187C Rundle Street was previously home to popular student-favourite restaurant, Dumplings R Us. The restaurant traded for years on Rundle Street and held a special place in many budget-friendly diners’ hearts. Last July, the restaurant was evicted after reports surfaced that it owed over $30,000 in unpaid rent and utilities.
Now it’s time the space gets a new tenant, and Twist & Top is up for the task!
The interior is set to have a similar feel to the Mawson Lakes location, featuring light wooden panels and casual, minimalistic furniture. But, owner Pavan Solanki says there will be a bit of a twist.
“The tables will have specialised tablets where you can sit and play games. It’s open to anyone to come and play,” Solanki said. It’s the perfect spot to visit after the footy or one of the many festivals happening across the city this season. The kids will be entertained for sure!
In the lead-up to Twist & Top’s CBD opening Solanki says that the team has been experimenting with new flavours to build the perfect frozen yoghurt and acai offering, balancing healthy with delicious. “Instead of just offering frozen yoghurt, we’re bringing out a lot of healthy protein-based acai options as well as sugar free varieties,” Solanki said.

It wouldn’t be a frozen yoghurt shop without a generous buffet of toppings. At Twist & Top, the best selling garnishes have been cookie dough, m&ms, Biscoff, mochi, and bubble tea-like jellies. Toppings also include fresh seasonal fruits, syrups, hot crumbles and plenty more.
The frozen yoghurt bar has had a fantastic response over the past three years, and Solanki says he’s had a fair amount of interest in the CBD spot from current customers. “We’ve had some very excited customers, especially as we’re bringing out new flavours.”

The dessert bar has already been around for three years, with the first shop opening up on Main Street, Mawson Lakes serving up tasty treats to Adelaide’s north. At the end of last year, a big rebrand was unveiled, in the hope to differentiate the shop from the vast array of frozen yoghurt options you can find around Adelaide in 2025.
The dessert bar was originally called Yo Frizz, but owner, Pavan Solanki recognised that, along with a plethora of new menu items, it was time to move away from the ‘yo’ prefix and differentiate from some of the key players namely Yo-Chi and Yo-Bar.
With Twist & Top’s second location set to open in late April, a third spot will also soon launch in Mount Barker. Keep an eye out!
Solanki says with the new Rundle Street opening there will be “more options and more indulgence.” If you’re after a guilt-free treat or a fully loaded fro-yo creation, Twist & Top is set to bring plenty of sweet options to the heart of the East End.
