When it comes to testing the limits of what the Adelaide Entertainment Centre can handle, no-one puts it through its paces quite like the Hilltop Hoods. On the last stop of their Show Business Tour, the Hoods treated their hometown crowd to an epic show that was high energy, loud, and rowdy fun.
The multi-platinum selling and award-winning group pulled no punches as they performed some of their most loved songs alongside their latest singles. As absolute experts at hyping up a crowd, MC’s Pressure and Suffa had the audience singing and bouncing through their set, with DJ Debris proving that he is more than just the backup music guy.
But the crowd were pretty hyped before the Hoods even hit the stage. Between the high expectations that accompany every Hilltop Hoods gig, combined with the raucous support acts prior to the main act, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre was pumping by the time the boys got up. Kenyan-born Australian singer songwriter Elsy Wameyo, and DJ Total Eclipse warmed up an already hot crowd made up of all ages from kids through to Boomers.
A.B. Original was the perfect support act for the Hoods. Their styles are similar, and they share largely the same fan base. Cranking out their new single King Billy Coke Bottle, their energy, humour, and talent had the crowd immediately hooked. They finished their set with their classic January 26, as the audience reached a level of excitement befitting the main act that was next to play.
Every Hilltops gig is huge, and never more than when they play their hometown. Saturday’s event was no exception, with the Hoods proving once again that they are the kings of Australian Hip Hop. The Adelaide Entertainment Centre might need a building inspection now, as the Hoods and their mates rocked that place from the foundations to the roof.
