Everyone’s favourite bearded Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst is set to bring a bit of her own glitz and glamour to this year’s annual Feast Festival.

The victory of the stunning Conchita was a breath of fresh air for many Eurovision fans and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) community as she championed tolerance and acceptance on the international stage. With her chart topping hit Rise like a Phoenix and unique edge catapulting her into the hearts of many, Adelaide will be the stage to the Austrian beauty for her first Australian performance.

Her self-titled debut album the aptly named Conchita, was launched in May this year with a biography Being Conchita, fashion appearances, pride marches, advocating for the UN on issues of equality and tolerance all have followed.

When accepting her Eurovision win Conchita proudly declared “this night is dedicated to everyone who believes in a future of peace and freedom. You know who you are. We are unity. And we are unstoppable.”

At the official Feast Festival Special announcement today the Wurst was finally let out of the bag after weeks of speculation that the Austrian would indeed be the headlining act for the festival.

The Festival’s social media channel today announced Conchita’s return to Australia “Hello Adelaide this is Conchita, I am very excited because I will be back in Australia in November at the Feast Festival.”

Conchita will host and perform at an event “The art of Drag – A night with Conchita”, a one-night-only extravaganza showcasing the very best of local and interstate drag. Conchita and Adelaide icon Vonni will co-host a fabulous night of feathers, sequins, lipstick and lip synching. Come in drag and help the Adelaide community smash the current Guinness World Record for the ‘Largest Drag Queen Stage Show’.

She will also be hosting a book signing for her new biography “Being Conchita: We are Unstoppable” yet to be released in Australia with Adelaide playing host for the meet and greet event.

Feast Festival is in its 19th year and runs from the 14th-29th November, showcasing the best of LGBTIQ cabaret, comedy, literature, music, film, forums and special events. For more information go to www.feast.org.au.
