Conquer Mount Lofty For A Cause

The Leukaemia Foundation is officially launching their new campaign; local heroes reaching new heights for a worthy cause

Let us paint you a picture; exercising in the fresh Spring air, and the spectacular views from the Mt Lofty summit, all the while enjoying the company of local athletic heroes. If you like the sound of that, you’ll be thrilled to learn that The Leukaemia Foundation is giving you all a chance to live it, while helping out a very worthy cause.

‘Lofty Ambition’ is the latest campaign of The Leukaemia Foundation, and it will run throughout the month of November, encouraging people to raise much-needed funds for a fantastic cause. You can do this by climbing Mount Lofty; either once a month, once a week, three times a week, or everyday, for 30 days.

Participants can complete the walk in their own time, or they can join Lofty Ambition ambassadors every Sunday morning throughout November for an organised walk; the ambassadors include Port Adelaide Football Club’s Hamish Hartlett, Adelaide United Football Club’s Bruce Djite, and local fitness guru Dasha Gaivoronski of Bags and Bunnies. Together, participants will depart Waterfall Gully for the 4km trek up to the Mt Lofty summit and back down again, giving all walkers a chance to enjoy the fresh air and spectacular views on offer.

The Leukaemia Foundation is officially launching this wonderful campaign on Thursday 1st October 2015, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Burnside Village Fashion Mall (447 Portrush Road, Glenside). The ambassadors will be there, giving you a chance to kick the footy or soccer ball with Hamish and Bruce; you could even challenge Dasha to see who can do the most push-ups! This is a fabulous opportunity for Adelaide to get outdoors and meet some local heroes while supporting The Leukaemia Foundation.
