Construction begins on new $60m Hotel Panorama

Construction has officially begun on the $60 million Hotel Panorama, with the project anticipated to reach completion in early 2026.

Construction has officially begun on the $60 million Hotel Panorama along Goodwood Road by the Hurley Hotel Group, set for completion in early 2026.

Sarah Constructions, a locally owned South Australian company, has been tasked with construction, having previously worked on notable projects such as d’Arenberg’s The Cube and Hurley’s Marion Hotel.

Cox Architecture, a local firm renowned for their work on projects like the Adelaide Oval Hotel, Adelaide Botanic High School, and Her Majesty’s Theatre redevelopment, is responsible for the hotel’s design.

The five-story Hotel Panorama will offer a comprehensive hospitality experience. On the ground floor, guests can enjoy a casual cafe bar and restaurant with a cozy sunken fire lounge, gaming room, and lively sports bar.

The hotel will feature three levels of accommodation, comprising 77 rooms including 26 serviced apartments. The accommodation options will range from one to two-bedroom suites, with a special honeymoon suite available.

“The Hotel Panorama represents the largest investment in the history of our family business. We are thrilled to be making this investment in South Australia and are excited for the future of this area and the state,” Hurley Hotel Group’s Anna Hurley said.

“When we found out the Tonsley Hotel would close we were heartbroken to say goodbye to a local
institution. We are very glad we can continue to service the local area with the new hotel. We have paid
homage in the design to the history of the area with a mid-century design while also maintaining
elements from the Tonsley Hotel such as the Chrysler memorabilia.

“We look forward to working with the locals to make it a very special place in the community where
people can make memories and come together with their loved ones. The Hotel Panorama will be totally
unique in Adelaide’s suburbs, a full-service hotel with everything under one roof.”

An expansive outdoor area beneath the gum trees will feature a large three-meter outdoor screen. The rooftop bar on the fifth level will boast multiple function spaces with breathtaking views of the ocean, city, and Adelaide Hills.

Positioned conveniently for guests visiting nearby institutions such as Flinders Hospital, Repat Health Precinct, Flinders University, Tonsley Innovation Precinct, and the South Australian Leisure and Aquatic Centre, Hotel Panorama aims to provide the perfect stay experience.

During its construction phase, The Hotel Panorama will generate 100 job opportunities, and once operational, it will sustain 160 positions in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Additionally, an integral aspect of the Hotel Panorama project, the Panorama Hurley Cellars, has recently launched, showcasing an impressive array of premium wines, both imported and local beers, and a selection of standard and high-end spirits. Noteworthy features of the Panorama Hurley Cellars include a convenient three-lane drive-thru, a dedicated premium wine room, a temperature-controlled walk-in cool room, and a tasting table designed to host regular tastings and masterclasses.
