Cooking Idols Invite Food Lovers To Share Their Tables

Tasting Australia

Tasting Australia’s all-star culinary team will host five celebrity lunches and seven dinners, making this the biggest dining experience for food lovers in the history of the event.

Ian Parmenter, Tasting Australia’s Festival Director, announced the lunch and dinner offerings today, urging foodies who want to rub shoulders with the tastiest celebrities to book now.

“We are delighted to see restaurants and wineries across South Australia hosting lunches and dinners with the stars of Tasting Australia. Stephanie Alexander, Frank Camorra, Ben O’Donoghue and Antony Worrall Thompson will attend events in Adelaide, Maeve O’Meara and Rosemary Shrager in the Barossa, Pete Evans in North Adelaide, Antonio Carluccio in the city and the Coonawarra and Manu Feildel in the Adelaide Hills,” said Ian Parmenter.

Hot off the set of Seven’s My Kitchen Rules, both Pete Evans and Manu Feildel are taking time out of their busy schedules to cook dinner for their fans at two separate South Australian locations.

“The Tasting Australia celebrity lunch and dinner program is the opportunity for foodies to dine with the stars, sample renowned South Australian wines, learn new recipes and indulge in deliciously prepared fresh, local produce,” said Ian Parmenter.

Local chef Mark McNamara from award-winning The Louise’s Appellation, is teaming up with Nhut Huynh to excite and inspire Asian food lovers. Born in Vietnam, Nhut arrived in Australia as a refugee in 1984. With no English language, money or belongings, he started a journey from poor farm boy to successful restaurateur.

Renowned Italian born Chef, London restaurateur, international food icon and author Antonio Carluccio is returning to Tasting Australia for the third time and will be heading south to Coonawarra to cook at Zema Estate.

Commandatore Carluccio will generously share some of his secrets in a cooking demonstration alongside Mrs Zema, supported by Vince Garreffa from the legendary Mondo Butchers. The Carluccio Cooks @ Zema Estate is one of the feature events of Tasting Australia 2010.
