Coopers Brewery unveils unexpected twist on a classic

Craft beer lovers rejoice! Coopers Brewery has launched a brand new, limited edition ale.

Coopers Brewery continues to surprise and delight beer enthusiasts with their latest creation: Coopers Botanic Ale, a delightful floral twist on the beloved classic Coopers Sparkling Ale.

Drawing inspiration from the resurgence of gin culture, Coopers Botanic Ale introduces a unique infusion of juniper, appealing to both beer aficionados and gin lovers alike. The addition of juniper to the time-honoured Sparkling Ale recipe elevates the brew, offering a refreshing and aromatic experience that is both familiar and unexpected.

What sets Coopers Botanic Ale apart is not only its distinctive flavour profile but also its striking retro ’60s design. Adorned with hues of purple and green reminiscent of the juniper tree, the artwork on the packaging evokes a sense of nostalgia while signalling a new era of creativity for Coopers ales under their updated roundel design.

Upon pouring, the beer reveals a cloudy and golden appearance, teasing the senses with fruity and floral hop aromas. The infusion of juniper enhances the palate, delivering a full-bodied experience with a crisp finishing bitterness that leaves a lasting impression.

Crafted with care, Coopers Botanic Ale contains no additives or preservatives, maintaining the brewery’s commitment to quality and tradition. With an ABV of 5.8%, this limited release brew sits alongside Coopers Sparkling Ale, catering to the growing demand for higher ABV options in Australia.

According to Coopers Brewery General Manager Michael Shearer, the creation of Botanic Ale represents a bold departure from convention while staying true to the brewery’s heritage.

“Our brewers went for something different with this limited release,” Michael said.

“Coopers Botanic Ale draws on our 19th century Sparkling Ale recipe while combining novel elements such as juniper sourced from the UK, and Nectaron hops which are a trending variety from New Zealand.

“The result is a tasty and unique addition to Australia’s craft beer category that we know will appeal to existing and new drinkers of Coopers. This is a very limited release so you’ll need to get in early before stock runs out.”

Coopers Botanic Ale is now available in 375mL cans and on tap across SA. For those eager to indulge in the full Coopers experience, Botanic Ale will also be available on tap at the Coopers Beer Garden during WOMAD in Botanic Park, Adelaide, this long weekend.
