Coopers has partnered with the Aussie band Ocean Alley to create a limited-edition brew designed to capture the essence of the band. This collaboration marks a first for Australia’s largest independent brewery. Coopers worked closely with the musicians during the design and development stages to craft a brew that reflects their influence.
The result is Coopers Ocean Alley Ale, a tropical pale ale that boasts a bright gold pour while retaining Coopers’ signature cloudy appearance.
Coopers Managing Director Michael Shearer shared, “We’ve worked closely with Ocean Alley over the years, and we know they all enjoy a beer. Great music and great beer go hand-in-hand, so we got the guys involved with a new beer that appeals to their love of refreshing tropical ale.”
Ocean Alley collaborated with Coopers’ brewers on the flavour profile and hop selection. They also contributed to the packaging design, which features a surfing coat of arms. After extensive tastings, the team has developed an easy-drinking beer that encapsulates the spirit of Ocean Alley.
The citrus and tropical notes in Coopers Ocean Alley Ale are complemented by subtle malty characters. With an ABV of 3.8%, it is expected to be popular among those seeking a ‘sessionable-style’ beer perfect for social occasions.
Ocean Alley said, “Coopers kindly invited us to partner with them in creating this one-of-a-kind Ocean Alley Ale. Not only are we honoured to be included among their tasty range of brews, but also a part of Coopers’ long and rich history.”
To launch the new beer, Coopers will host a party with Ocean Alley on April 6 at The Royal in Bondi. The event will feature DJs, door prizes, and an 8-ball pool competition with the band, along with plenty of cold Coopers Ocean Alley Ale. Entry will be on a first come, first served basis.
For those who can’t make it to the launch, Coopers will run a national competition offering the chance to see Ocean Alley perform in either Los Angeles or London. To enter, customers need to buy a pint or a four-pack of Coopers Ocean Alley Ale and visit coopers.com.au.
Coopers Ocean Alley Ale is available in 375ml cans and 50-litre kegs. This is an extremely limited release, so grab some before stock runs out.
