Cosmopolitan Australia is set to make a splash as it re-enters the Australian market on tomorrow after a six year hiatus. The magazine returns under the guidance of Katarina Kroslakova and KK Press, in association with Hearst Magazines International. The relaunch aims to blend traditional Cosmopolitan charm with a contemporary twist, showcasing a fresh direction and vibrant content to capture the essence of modern Australia.
The cover of the inaugural issue features Tones And I, the multi-award-winning artist known globally for her hit ‘Dance Monkey.’ She shares personal insights in a candid interview about her recent UK and European tour and her upcoming Australian tour to promote her new album, ‘Beautifully Ordinary.’ The issues discussed range from her rise from street performing in Byron Bay to dealing with internet trolls and evolving as an artist by focusing on her mental, physical health, and unique style.
Reflecting on her significant role in the relaunch, Tones And I stated, “I’m so excited to have been selected for Cosmo coming back to print as their cover artist/creative/woman, for Cosmopolitan’s first issue! To be here representing such a big moment in Cosmopolitan magazine is truly an honour. I am extremely privileged and excited to be a part of something that really helped my upbringing – I was definitely a Cosmo reader as a teen. To know that Cosmo appreciates the depth, the person I am, the artist and creative that I am, is the most inspiring thing. I hope you enjoy it and I’ve had a really fun time working with the team. I will see you on the front cover of Cosmopolitan!”
The reinvigorated publication includes a diverse array of topics such as style, beauty, technology, relationships, entertainment, and career and financial advice. Notable features in the first issue include the return of the sealed section spearheaded by renowned sexologist Chantelle Otten and engaging street interviews in Sydney capturing love stories of all forms.
Financial disparities faced by women in prestigious roles are also explored, inspired by the global attention on the remuneration of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Additionally, real-life connections are showcased through stories such as that of artist and model Sarah Ellen with her best friend Josh Kemper, illustrating how creative pursuits can strengthen friendships.
Cosmopolitan Australia’s Editor-in-Chief, Tessa Ogle, shared her thoughts for the relaunch. “We are so happy to reintroduce Cosmopolitan to Australia with a renewed vision and exhilarating new content. Readers can look forward to inspiring stories, fashion-forward features, and insightful advice. And who better to lead this charge than the unstoppable Tones And I, as she openly discusses her extraordinary evolution. Overall, our team is dedicated to celebrating the modern Australian woman, providing a platform for diverse voices and stories. There are various iterations of the Cosmo woman, and our pages house voices that celebrate and represent her accordingly – women are multifaceted as are their identities and we are here for every one!”
As Cosmopolitan Australia hits newsstands, readers can expect a dynamic mix of engaging content aimed at empowering and inspiring readers to embrace their individuality, pursue their passions, and navigate life confidently. With its classic allure and fresh, insightful approach, the magazine is poised to become a pivotal platform for eclectic and empowering stories relevant to the modern Australian woman.
