Costco to opens early for front line workers ‘Heroes Hour’

For those of you lucky enough to have a Costco card, you’ll already know about the lure of this shopping mecca, which stocks everything from the latest TVs, to giant mechanical Halloween dragons, bulk size wheels of cheese, clothing, groceries, garden sheds, and everything in between.

While it’s been a particularly popular destination during the pandemic for those stocking up (if the bulk slabs of toilet paper don’t excite you, the rest of the bulk groceries should), Costco stores across the country and now giving back to Australia’s front line workers with a Heroes Hour.

Doors are opening an hour early on Saturday August 22nd, to give our EMT/Paramedics, State & Federal Police, metro, rural and volunteer firefighters and medical personnel time to shop without the long lines and busy crowds.

Heroes Hour will allow ‘heroes’ and their families to shop together before the warehouse is open to the general public. Due to social distancing requirements, Costco will be offering a take-away breakfast pack and some yummy snacks.

Adelaide’s Costco store, located in Kilburn, will open at 8am for the exclusive Heroes Hour.
