During lockdown home renovations, interior makeovers and garden rehauls have been at the forefront of many Adelaide homes, with most of us spending more time in our living spaces than ever before.
Whether its creating that perfect work from home space, or the backyard you’ve always wanted, two Adelaide best friends used lockdown to identify a gap in the market for beautifully designed homewares, diving into an epic side hustle that is due to launch next month.
Coterie Studio is the brainchild of Adelaideans Montana Birt and Kristina Stojanac, who have designed a range of pastel French-inspired homewares from delicate crystal glassware, linen napkins and colourful dining plates, putting a funky modern twist on classic homeware designs.
When COVID hit and hospitality venues closed, Montana and Kristina found themselves hosting intimate dinner parties for friends and family, and struggled to find beautiful homewares for their table that really suited their taste.
After painstakingly designing each item for a year, the exquisite range is now due to launch next month, with each dishwasher-safe item sold separately and individually packaged, so you can build up a curated homeware collection that best suits your dining and entertaining needs.
The full range starts from $34.95 and includes crystal glassware to suit every home palette in vibrant pink, blue, orange and green hues, as well as linen napkins, coasters and even glass drinking straws.
Having previously worked together in homewares and fashion retail, Montana and Kristina now work in events and real estate respectively, putting in the long hours on their new business in the spare time they get after a long working day.
Coterie Studio will be sold online via their website for the initial launch as well as being stocked in a few select retail stores currently under wraps, with plans to open a dedicated appointment-only studio on the horizon for the design duo.
With their first range drawing inspiration from France, the co-founders explained the next launch, released ahead of Christmas, would also have a location theme. Each range has been designed to complement the other to allow purchasers to build up a homeware collection perfectly aligned with their tastes and interior vision.
