Counting Crows are bringing three decades of anthems to Adelaide this March

Counting Crows are returning to Australia for their ‘The Complete Sweets!’ tour, and will perform for Adelaide’s fans for one night only.

For more than 30 years, Counting Crows have built a rare kind of connection with their audience — one forged through raw storytelling, emotionally charged performances and songs that seem to soundtrack entire eras of life. In 2026, the band returns to Australia with The Complete Sweets! Tour, and Adelaide fans are getting a prime seat.

The band will take to the stage at Festival Theatre on Friday 27 March, bringing their unmistakable live show to one of the city’s most iconic venues. It’s a night set to span decades of music, blending anthems that defined the ’90s with deeper cuts and newer material that shows the band is still evolving.

Led by the instantly recognisable voice of Adam Duritz, Counting Crows rose to global prominence with their 1993 debut August and Everything After. Songs like Mr Jones and Round Here quickly became generational touchstones, pairing poetic vulnerability with soaring, roots-driven rock. Since then, the band has released seven studio albums and sold more than 20 million records worldwide, cementing their place as one of the most enduring live acts of their era.

Adelaide audiences can expect a setlist that moves fluidly between eras — from fan favourites like Big Yellow Taxi to the Oscar-nominated Accidentally in Love, which introduced the band to a whole new audience through Shrek 2. That song alone earned Counting Crows Academy Award, Golden Globe and Grammy nominations, underscoring their rare crossover appeal.

More recently, the band returned with Butter Miracle: The Complete Sweets!, released earlier this year, continuing a creative chapter that began with Butter Miracle: Suite One in 2021. The new material has been widely praised for capturing the emotional immediacy and musical warmth that first drew fans to the band, while adding a renewed sense of momentum.

The Adelaide show forms part of a tightly curated run across Australia and New Zealand, but Festival Theatre’s intimacy makes this stop particularly special. Known for performances that stretch and reshape their songs live, Counting Crows have long been celebrated as a band best experienced in person — where moments can be stripped back, extended, or transformed entirely from one night to the next.
