Day by day, it’s becoming more apparent that the COVID-19 pandemic will impact our society in an unprecedented manner.
Those returning from overseas have been ordered to self-isolate for fourteen days, and the general public has been advised to practice social distancing.
So, if you’re self-isolating or keeping your children home from school due to illness, we’ve put together a guide to handy education resources for parents and guardians to utilise.
Scholastic
Scholastic has set up a ‘Learn From Home’ website with four categories: PreK and Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2, Grades 3-5, and Grades 6+.
Each section is already equipped with one week of content for students with fifteen additional days on the way.
The website provides up to three hours of content each day and can be completed on any device.
All Kids Network
This website has resources for parents, teachers and anyone who works with children. You’ll find thousands of activities for kids, such as crafts, worksheets, colouring pages, printable mazes, dot to dot, hidden pictures and more.
Belouga
Belouga’s mission is to make education impactful and accessible on a global scale through through peer-to-peer and classroom connection, communication and collaboration.
The website is subject-aligned, contains an extensive collection of educational resources, and provides teachers and students with a personalised learning experience without sacrificing creativity or curriculum needs.
12 Virtual Museum Tours
Why not add something a little different to your at-home school curriculum and experience some of the world’s best museums from your couch (sorry, desk).
Google Arts & Culture has teamed up with over 2500 museums and galleries around the world, including the British Museum in London, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Guggenheim in New York City, and many, many more places where you can gain knowledge about art, history, and science.
Digital Education Resources
Amazon offers an extensive selection of printable lesson plans, classroom activities, games, templates, and more for teachers, parents, and those being homeschooled (even if it’s only temporarily).
We’ll continue adding to this guide throughout the COVID-19 developments. If you have something you think is worth adding, please email [email protected].
