COVID-19 clinical trials are set to being in Australia as the race towards a vaccine continues.
With 131 Australians from Melbourne and Brisbane volunteering, the first vaccines are being injected as soon as next week.
This will be Australia’s first human trial of a vaccine.
Australian researchers are also preparing to recruit healthcare workers for a clinical trial of hydroxychloroquine.
These clinical trials will test hydroxychloroquine’s effectiveness against COVID-19.
Hydroxychloroquine is used for treatment of malaria and certain autoimmune diseases.
More to come.
