COVID-19: Oar Opens Mini Mart Selling Supermarket Basics & Take Home Meals

Oar will be selling shopping list basics and take home meals in the hopes of lessening pressure on supermarkets and keeping its suppliers in business.

“At least we can take comfort in the fact that we are all in this together.”

These words, posted on Facebook by lakeside restaurant Oar, ring true.

With the COVID-19 pandemic becoming more prevalent by the day, it is important we unite, particularly in support of our local businesses.

The Oar team has expressed a reluctance to cancel orders and leave suppliers in the same position as many cafes are now.

Instead, like many small businesses in the current climate, Oar is adapting, with the opening of the Oar Mini Mart.

As of today, Oar will be selling shopping list basics in the hopes of lessening pressure on supermarkets and keeping its suppliers in business.

The team will also be preparing meals customers can buy and take home, including pasta, pasta sauces, curries, sausage rolls, cakes and salads. ‘

Oar posted on Facebook, “Whilst we are ready the take the hit and fight the fight to keep our business afloat, we want to do everything in our power to keep the people around us afloat too … there’s no point being here if the people who have supported us over the last 5 years are not …”

You can find Oar on Facebook here.

Oar is located at 100 Military Road, West Lakes.
