The next phase in Australia’s response to COVID-19 is to ensure millions of Australian go back to work.

With the acknowledgement that the cost of COVID-19, currently 11% of the GDP, will continue as long as Australian’s are unable to open their businesses to return to normal life.

With millions on jobseeker payments, jobkeeper payments, accessing their own super, and accessing business cash flow assistance, the effect of the restrictions has spanned every industry.

Mr Morrison says that it’s not just restaurants and hospitality, but the entire supply chain associated with these industries that have seen a massive downturn.

The steps in reanimating the economy start by using tools such as the COVIDSafe app to help monitor the increase of cases. As of today the app has been downloaded by almost 5 million Australians.

For businesses, the Safe Work Australia website is as a vital tool in finding answers dedicated to your particular business and industry, sourced through the content filters and tailoring capabilities.

It stands as the Government’s largest repository of information.

The results of today’s National Cabinet meeting do indicate that we are on the way out and looking to begin restarting the economy.

More to come.
