SA Health has reported 842 new cases of COVID-19 today. There have been 5,162 cases reported in South Australia to date.

Sadly, SA Health has confirmed a 94-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 passed away in metropolitan Adelaide yesterday. The women acquired COVID-19 in South Australia, but the cause of death is currently being determined (Coroner referral as per standard process).

Her passing is the fifth death in South Australia of somebody who had tested positive to COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Today’s cases include 63 children, 49 teenagers, 362 women aged between 18 and 100, and 368 men aged between 18 and 92.

Of these, 82 cases acquired their infection in South Australia and are known contacts of a positive case, 166 cases acquired their infection in South Australia with the contact unknown, 15 cases acquired their infection interstate, and 579 cases are under investigation.

There are 23 cases in hospital, of which four people are in ICU, one person is ventilated.

Of the hospitalised cases, 12 people are fully vaccinated, and 11 are unvaccinated (includes partial and nil vaccination).

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, four cases were duplicated yesterday and have been removed from the total number of cases.

We encourage anyone who has been out in the community to monitor closely for symptoms and get tested as soon as soon as they appear.
