The upgraded Cowell foreshore will have an opening party on March 11, with the free event hosted by the District Council of Franklin Harbour.

Shannon Noll, Australian singer and revered legend, will headline the opening party. Noll recently made headlines for a TikTok with Sydney DJs, Sunset Bros, to remix his 2004 hit song What About Me?

Nollsy will be joined by entertainer, vocalist and television/radio presenter Andy Seymour, along with blues and country artist Jo Page.

Although the official launch party will be held in 2023, the upgraded waterpark has been declared safe and available for public use as of October this year. The exciting and ongoing foreshore development has certainly made a splash to the Eyre Peninsula, after a $4.5 million grant from the state and federal government in 2019.

The 34-berth marina investment is intended to open up Cowell to ease accessibility and encourage people to stay longer in the region.

Food and market stalls will open at 3pm and won’t close until late, leaving plenty of time to snatch up a snack for the evening festivities.

The launch party will officially kick off from 5pm, located at the entrance to the foreshore area, opposite the Franklin Harbour Hotel, with the exciting music bonanza beginning at 6pm.

Regardless of your taste in tunes, from soul to Noll, keep an ear to the Eyre for what will likely be a fun night.

The celebrations will culminate in a fireworks display at 9pm, which campers can catch from the free campsite available off Brooks Drive on the town oval.

The council advises that attendees refrain from bringing their own alcohol, but there will be a bar available, courtesy of Cowell Commercial Hotel, to get your drink on while crooning “I’ve had enough and I want my share,” with everyone else.
