Cozy Cake Shop is a traditional Brazilian cake shop with service as sweet as their food. They opened their doors back in July of this year and if you haven’t yet discovered this inner-city gem, we’ve got a few more reasons for you to check it out.
Located at 50 Grenfell Street, this cute café is your one-stop-shop for homemade cakes and tasty coffee. All Cozy Cake’s cakes baked fresh daily by owner Helena Guimaraes and her team.
We recently visited the store and discovered Cozy Cake’s brand new range of sweet treats, most of which are gluten free.
The café have just introduced Bolinho cakes, which are mini versions of their most popular cakes. You can indulge in one for just $7, or share with friends (or yourself) and get get three for $17.
There is also a brand new gluten free and vegan chocolate brownie cake that looks as good as it tastes. Helena and her team have paired the cake with a luscious berry coulis.
Sweet treats aren’t the only thing Cozy Cake are slinging, the café now have dangerously good gluten free cheese puffs, more commonly known as pão de queijo.
The deliciously chewy cheese balls are fluffy, filling and flavoursome. A definite must try.
Cozy Cake cakes are made for all occasions and can be enjoyed at any time of day, Helena recommends pairing them with a nice warm cup of coffee.
The dessert spot has quickly become well known for their traditional Brazilian polenta cakes and also offer other mouth-watering flavours, including Churros, Carrot & Chocolate and Polenta & Guava.
There is a range of gluten free, sugar free and dairy free alternatives, which means no one misses out on having a slice.
A must-try is the melt-in-your-mouth Polenta & Coconut cake, known as a Queijadinha.
Helena says that in the future Cozy Cake will hopefully have some seating in and outside of the store for people to sit back, relax and enjoy a coffee and cake.
If you can’t make it to their Grenfell Street café to try a slice, Cozy Cake offers a delivery service for selected suburbs.
Cozy Cake is open Monday to Friday from 8am ’til 6pm, and Saturday from 11am ’til 3pm.
