A new commercial brewery and taproom has been opened on the Copper Coast.
Hedonbar, is now pouring pints made from the Yorke Peninsula’s abundant barley crops.
With up to 10 taps of Hedon-brewed ales and special-release lagers, the industrial-themed brew house is fast becoming a popular hub for locals and tourists to gather on weekends.
The craft beer brewery and taproom has been three years in the making for Troy and Rayma Dennis, who began experimenting with brews in their “nano” pilot brewery at home, before popping up at various venues on the Copper Coast over summer, introducing their ales and lagers to the people.
Now everyone is flocking to the “farm shed” complex in Kadina, where Hedonbar has pulled up to brew more beer on-site and allow everyone to enjoy “their pursuit of pleasure” – the meaning behind the name Hedon.
“Hedon is short for hedonism and the definition of hedonism is the pursuit of pleasure,” Rayma said.
“Does it get any better than a craft beer tasting paddle, a group of people gathering at a place with live music, no pokies, no other distractions- just people out, and together, enjoying the vibe.”

Each Sunday Hedonbar teams up with local food trucks to offer dining, and while sipping a tasting paddle or downing a pint, live music also sets the Sunday scene.
“We have a rotating selection of seven beers on tap, which we will be expanding down the track,” Rayma said.
“Troy likes to describe our venue as a modern European brewhouse. Guests can see the brewery behind the bar and Troy loves to experiment, so often we’ll release what we call a One Keg Wonder”.
And that’s where Steve comes into the story.
A premium Aussie lager, Steve briefly debuted in May and was enjoyed by many beer lovers.
A mid-winter party is being planned for the first week of July to introduce another One Keg Wonder, a German Black larger, currently lagering, called Schwarzbier.
But if the likes of Steve and Schwarzbier don’t tempt your palate, Hedonbar has teamed up with two gin distilleries, the Barossa Valley’s Seppeltsfield Road Distillers and Yorke Peninsula distiller, Sunny Hill, to offer a range of gins, served with tonic or soda.
You can even have a round of mini putt putt before you indulge – the brewery is located within the Copper Coast Tourism Centre, which also features the Farm Shed Museum, Mini Golf and Copper Coast Miniature Railway.

Hedonbar Brewery will likely extend its hours when the weather warms up, but for now you can meet Troy and Rayma and their beers brewed with love on Fridays from 2pm-7.30pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm-6.30pm.
