Cry Baby and Seamore’s team up for epic beachside Sunday session

The Soloman Street bar is teaming up with Henley Beach favourite Seamore’s to throw the ultimate surf rock Sunday session on April 4.

American-style dive bar Cry Baby is bringing its rock n’ roll vibes to the beach.

The Soloman Street bar is teaming up with Henley Beach favourite Seamore’s to throw the ultimate surf rock Sunday session on April 4. Guests can expect food, copious drinks, and Cry Baby’s signature DJs and grungy vibes only in a different, oceanside location.

“It’s basically just Cry Baby at Seamore’s, or Seamore’s with a Cry Baby twist—That’s the idea,” says Jon Di Pinto, Cry Baby’s founder.

The event will feature mostly Seamore’s cocktails, but with a Cry Baby (likely Bourbon) spin.

You can also get food to absorb your drinks, with catering by Hermanos Cubanos, a Cuban-style eatery by the same owners as Seamore’s. They’ll be serving up Cuban sandwiches and nachos throughout the Sunday session, which runs 3pm to 1am.

Di Pinto says the music is a main draw for the event, and it will shift from laid-back daytime surf rock to Cry Baby’s usual rock n’ roll at night.

“When it gets dark, we’ll flick off the lights and go Cry Baby on it,” Di Pinto says.

Now that packed dance floors are allowed as COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease, the Seamore’s x Cry Baby event is a great place to dance the day away; Seamore’s dining area will be stripped of seating to make room for a dance space, and the 150 guests can use the outdoor deck as well.

Cry Baby’s owner is hoping guests will get really into the theme.

“We’re hoping people get in the spirit and rock up with Hawaiian party shirts,” he says.

The pre-sale is sold out, but walk-in tickets will be available at the door.
